Volunteering, day three.
My last day at the Pride|House information desk.
A popular act had been moved from 17 (5pm) to 14 (2pm).
No wrist bands or dog tags at first, but in the early afternoon we got another batch.
All in all, it was a somehow organized chaos, and things went “quite ok, after all”.
Free day.
Did some laundry.
When finished with that, lunch became a necessity, and by the time I’d eaten up, I decided to skip Pride|House for Pride|Park.
Browsed the Park, played some “dildokubb”, landed in the “bi” tent (that’s where I end up, year after year… I’ve got friends there, and it’s a good meeting point) a couple of times, heard / saw some performances, …
…did a “last minute call” over to Pride|House – some of the interesting things were located in the limited (max. 500 persons, due to Fire Department regulations) area, and therefore wasn’t accessible; listened to a part of a seminar, and to the end of another one. Tried to find some additional exhibitions, but couldn’t find them …they’re probably in the limited area.
Went home, shopped a few groceries, left the shoulder bag at home, bought take away food, and went back to the Park.
Ate my dinner in the “bi” tent, and then went to see some performances, including “Salong Giraff”, and BM (Backroom Matches), God-des and She, and QBoy.
After that, it was time to leave (for me) – work tomorrow.
Volunteering, day two.
Pride|House, information desk. Again.
Everyone except me was new at the info desk, compared to yesterday.
The dog tags arrived at around three in the afternoon (which was good, as we had been expecting them sometime after four the soonest).
Went to see the last rehearsal of the play “Hedwig and The Angry Inch”.
It was rather good, eventhough I’m a little unsure how it was received by those who hadn’t seen the film beforehand.
Volunteering, day one.
Pride|House, information desk.
No wrist bands the first hours.
No dog tags (the necklace). At all.
Well. Things ran quite ok after a while.
Went home for a quick shower, and then back for the volunteer kick-off.
Dinner, and socializing.
Left somewhat late, to sleep, and then on to day two…
…nu glömde jag bort att jag ju skulle åka tillbaks & söka stnv-tjänster…
*jaja*
Inte mycket att göra nå’t åt.
Så var det med det.
Inte för att jag egentligen tror att jag skulle få nå’n, men det hade varit intressant att söka, åtminstone.
Information, information, information, …
Lunch break, tour around the house, more information, coffee break, tour around the rest of the house, additional questions, and then end of the day.
Noon to six in the evening.
This year, Stockholm|Pride goes Euro|Pride.
Tomorrow’s the opening day for PrideHouse.
Fortsatt ont i axlar och höfter (betoningen har gått från höger till vänster, dock), plus (tränings)värk i ryggen (efter fredagens invigningsgala, med intensivt stående)…
Didn’t really get much sleep – not enough, at least – but managed to be in time for the short film “Dragkingdom of Sweden”, a documentary about the first steps of the drag king movement in Sweden, circa year 2000.
I recognized most of the participants in the film, but didn’t realize it was filmed that long ago, and was therefore surprised to se one of them “still” being female…
After the film, I considered seeing another one, but skipped it.
Went to check out the info desk in Gallerian, and then headed home.
Fell asleep on the couch, and awoke later to do my laundry.
Had vaugly planned to see another (non-free) film later in the evening, but realized that I wouldn’t make it there in five minutes (had dinner instead).
Tomorrow it’s time for this year’s volunteer training day, so I’d probably better be off to sleep. Soon.
So: opening day.
Skipped some of my plans, but stuck to the major ones.
Saw the opening, eventhough the opening speakers interested me more than (the majority of) the artists.
Said “hi” to some once-a-year-acquaintances.
Plans for day two: see some short films – if I manage to get up in time.
Jag och mamma var och besökte mormor på sjukhuset.
Hon är inlagd, med vätska i kroppen och för lågt blodtryck, efter att ha fallit hemma och inte kunnat ta sig upp själv.
Hon var dock kryare än vad jag blivit förvarnad om, så förhoppningsvis kan hon åka hem efter att ha blivit kurerad.
:-)
…å andra sidan är hon inte längre den skid- och skridskoåkande motionär hon tidigare var…
(Hon är 96 år… )
